Nevaeh walked slowly. Her little head was hung low in a cautious way as she explored the new land. Her tiny soft pads were cut, leaving a small trail of blood on the soft green grass behind her. She whimpered quietly as the pain hungry ran through her body. Some of her ribs were shown through her soft crème, black, and brown pelt. She then sat down on the soft grass. Her tiny fragile frame shivered as her bright yellow eyes gazed around.
She tilted her head as she saw a little lake. She got up and padded toward it. As she reached the lake she put her aching paws in that stung with pain. The water was cold, She stepped out of the water when she saw something moving in there. She did little fish swam around. Her hungry grew even more as she watched the moving creatures in the water. She quickly tried to pounce on the fish. She landed in the water on her belly with a big ‘slash’ when she got up to see if she had caught her prey, she saw nothing, but many startled fish swimming away from her now soaking wet form.

Jeronimo was an adventurous lad, and very brave and courageous. He had been on this island only a week or so now, and already he had built up enough confidence to go and explore, and even do some mischief of his own. As tiny paws carried the 5 month old pup, he moved at a fast pace, eager to get the day started. His main concern this morning was food. He was able to thrive off of little scraps or left overs from other wolves, but a growing pup need much more nutrition than that. He was too young to begin hunting, but before he was taken away from his family, he used to watch his pack members hunt small prey. This young pup was not fast enough nor strong enough to catch a larger small prey such as a rabbit, but perhaps field mice would give him a good start.
As the little male bounded further through the twisting trees, he spied some blood that made a little trail heading toward a lake. Jeronimo was curious to see what was hurt, so he eagerly followed the tainted grass trail. By the time he noticed another wolf, Jeronimo was too interested in the lake to approach the female. He watched her a few moments, as he was scared there might be a pack with pups near by and for him, it would not end up very pretty if they found him. She looked younger than him, yet he noticed nothing else to be occupying this area.
Bringing his attention back to the lake, the male just couldn't resist. The little dare-devil made his way on top of a large, steep rock. He waited a few moments, than with a great burst of energy the bag of fur ran to the edge of the rock and pounced off into the water as he yelled out the words. " J E R O N I M O ! ! " A large splash satisfied the wolf and he was soon over with his game. He shivered slightly as he swam back over to the surface. He hadn't jumped too far from the beach, and it was pretty shallow so it was easy for him to get to a point where he could slightly touch the sandy bottom beneath the water.

Nevaeh looked around for a while still shivering. Then she quickly jumped in fright as she heard loud lyrics and a loud splash. She ran away from the lake more onto the grass. Her ears lay back, and her tail was underneath her legs. She then walked closer to the water to see what jumped in.
She walked over and gazed into the lake’s clear water that rippled, and fish swan from all different directions. She wandered what it was that jumped into the water. She walked further into the water looking carefully.

Tiny claws scrapped the sandy bottom beneath the water. Jeronimo swam in closer to the surface until he stood chest high in the water, but able to walk now. It was hard for him to walk almost completely up to the sandy shore without falling in or stumbling just a little. He noticed the female a little ways down the beach as she looked around curiously. Jeronimo ran down the edge of the water toward the other. He playfully approached her, eager to know where she came from and why she was alone. "Hello!" He shouted as he slowed down in front of her.
Jeronimo playfully bowed, hoping for a game, yet she seemed a bit shy. As he waited for a response, he stood at full height and was much larger than the fem. As he studied her, he noticed she did not look like most wolves... she was different - Her scent was different as well. For young Jeronimo, he wouldn't know that she was coyote and simply would treat her as one of his own kind, however older wolves, probably wouldn't accept a pup that was of a different breed.
As the brown wolf pup continued to notice she was different, he couldn't help but act so impolite. "Who are you? ..And um.. What are you? You don't look like most wolves I seen." Despite his slight rudeness, Jeronimo kept a friendly act and waited for a response.

She then tilted her head curiously as she saw a form pop up from the surface of the water. Then she watching him as he started to run toward her. 'Hello!' The lyrics said as the pup slowed down in front of her. “Hi.” Nevaeh said quietly. Nevaeh wasn’t shy she was just quiet most the time, but she was shy sometimes.
Then she looked at him with no offense as he asked who she was and what she was. “My name is Nevaeh, and I’m a Coyote!” She said happily Her small tail wagging slowly. She was proud to be a Cyote. Though it was true most wolves probably wouldn’t adopt her, and she had just got off her mother’s milk and began eating meat, but she rather enjoyed milk more than meat.
She then looked at him curiously. “What’s your name?” She asked curiously. She had never seen a wolf before, but she had heard of them.

Jeronimo watched the female carefully and was very interested in getting to know her. This was the first wolf.. or coyote... that he had run into ever since he was stranded on the island. Of course he knew others lurked about and there were two packs, but he didn't bother with them as they may not accept a pup as himself.
He wagged his tail as she replied. But as she than spoke of a coyote he stood still and cocked his head. "A coyote? Wow. That's cool! I've never met a coyote before." He replied with great interest.
As she than questioned his name, Jeronimo smiled and sat. "I'm Jeronimo! But, sometimes my friends call me Jeron for short." His tail began to wag again as he questioned yet again. "So how come you're all alone? Are there other coyotes around here?"

Nevaeh sat down on her haunches, and listened. "Jeronimo? Thats a cool name." Nevaeh said happily, her little tail swishing back, and forth. Then she tilted her head a bit to the side as the pup asked why she was alone, and if there were anoymore Cyotes around here.
Nevaeh paused thinking. "Well, These weird tall hairless things took me from my den, then I ended up here, and I havn't seen a Coyote like myself here..." She said with a sigh.
"Your a wolf right? Do you have parents around here?" Nevaeh asked curiously still sitting down on her haunches.

Jeronimo watched the fem as she seemed very friendly. He smiled as she complimented his name. He watched flies as they buzzed around his head, and irritated him. The pup stood up and snapped at the air a few times than grew tired and sat down.
Really?! He said immediately after the coyote had spoken. They took me too! He paused as she asked if he had anyone else here. He shook his head. I don't know what happened to them. They took me right away and I dunno if they are okay. The pup watched her as they were both all alone. But I bet we could keep each other company? We are both alone. He suggested, hoping she would be his friend as he was very lonesome.

Nevaeh listened, she was surprised he was brought here the same way. Thn her tail wagged madly, looking like a blurry object swishing back, and worth quickly as Jeron told her they should keep eachother company. Nevaeh was also very lonely. This was her first time alone in the wilderness, and the only friends she could remember was her litter mates. Nevaeh then nodded happily. "Alright! Thats a good idea."
She then paused her tail still wagging. "But, where should we go? Do you know of anywhere to sleep?" She asked tilting her head to the side a bit. It was odd for a fox, and coyote to began friends. Though they didn't think so.

He desperately waited for her reply, as he was anxious and just so young without much patience. The swishing of her tail gave him a good sign as he than smiled as she replied. Jeronimo wagged his tail as well, but much lighter and not as fast. "Okay! I've never really had a friend, 'cept for my brothers n' sisters." His toung lolled out as he bent his head back to satisfy an itch on his ear with his hind leg.
The pup than replied to her following question. His ears slightly went back as he shrugged. "Um... Not really. I just been kinda' sleepin' in this hollow tree... not too far from here... But it's really cold. But um... there are two packs around here, but I sorta' think they won't accept us 'cause we are only pups. But I'm sure we can find a place together? Somewhere."

Nevaeh then looked at the ground thinking as he said there was basicly no place to go, and it was true. Probably none of the packs would accept them. She then gave a sigh still thinking. “I guess we should go look for something then.” She said happily smiling at Jeron. Before she stood up of her haunches, and shook her small frame. She then began to trot further away from the lake. “C’mon!” She said happily looking back at him.
She was certainly glad she made a new friend. Like Jeron the only friends she knew was her siblings, and this was the first time she had met a wolf. They looked sort of similar though, but maybe they would find a home, perhaps not a pack, but just a small den to rest in, they were only small pups so it would a very hard for them to survive on there own, but somehow they will find a way to manage.
